Highly recommended: Best Fireworks Festival Ever (Yanshui)

I’m sure that most of the old salts on here have been to the Yanshui Fireworks Festival several times, but if you haven’t, I can’t recommend it enough. I’m coming to the end of my first year here pretty soon, and I can’t believe that I almost didn’t go to the festival (it was on a school night.) If you’re new in Taiwan, put this one on the top of your list.

Nice video, good introduction to the event.
It’s certainly worth attending, but I do feel it’s not quite so exciting now as it was back in the early 1990s. The crowds seem less dense, the atmosphere less manic. Perhaps I’m just getting old and nothing is as good as it used to be…
