I live 500m from the Chunghwa (Zhonghua) building and had an engineer here to check it out … it’s every day in the afternoon that speed drops below 200k, whole day below what is acceptable and Sat-Sun whole day below 200k, my upload is faster than download …
I pay for 8M/640k … don’t get even close to what they them self promise as a minimum 2M, I get 10% of that …
Ok, ok, we got it. - Can you now stop the rant and wait until CHT has had some time to investigate and hopefully resolve the problem?
or hopefully they will send you to another tech service…

Now why should I stop ranting? It’s not me that keeps going on and doesn’t read others people posts and just slams something out of the neck …

Uh, I did read your posts but you obviously don’t understand how the internet works and how this affects the speed on your ADSL connection. If traffic picks up at any given time you get slower downloads, and there is nothing that CHT can do about.
I had just had a Hinet man round here this morning and he gave me YET ANOTHER (that makes the fifth or sixth) new modem from them. I use Hinet modems up like tissue paper when I have the flu. It does work though and it has fixed the problem yet again. I can actually view web pages now without taking a tea break in between.
My speed to Hinet is at 8 megs which is the connection speed they promise, but as everyone seems to experience the speed cross countries is a fair bit slower. Anyway it’s acceptable again for a few more weeks untill the time comes for another change of modem.
I will always call them with a complaint and they nearly always see to it within 24-48 hours, so I give them a good thumbs up for repair service.
