I’d like to hire a bike (preferably a road or touring bike) for 3 days to cycle up and down Taroko Gorge. I would love to camp, and was thinking of bringing my tent, sleeping bag etc. However - it’s all a bit heavy to carry in a rucksack on my back so I thought a pannier rack would be good.
I know there is a Giant bike shop near Xincheng station - does anyone know if it is possible to hire a bike with a pannier rack? Also, is it possible to hire pannier bags? I was thinking I could just strap my rucksack onto the rack and have a smaller bag on my back for food etc. But an actual pannier would be better. I don’t really want to bring one from home.
Also, is there is any way to contact the bike shop to reserve a bike via email? If not I can try to call once I get into Taiwan.
