You mean like Napoleon when he invaded Russia? Or Europe when everyone was keen to start WWI? Or Hitler when doing the Russian thing again? Or Russia when opting for Communism as the New Order? Or countless other examples were someone did not act all too reasonable (with hindsight of course) or not in favor of the common good?

Jest aside, did you also figure in mere stupidity Elegua? You see … your arguments sound all very rational and they explain things a lot better than: “The Yellow Menace! We are all doomed! DOOOOOMED!”.
But ‘rational’ is maybe just half of the picture.
