Hometown Tragedy

On May 5th, my brother’s classmate, a guy who went to my high school and my university, went to the hospital with flu-like symptoms, and after a blood test was diagnosed with acute leukemia. He was rushed over to the hospital for chemo, but died four days later, eight hours after his second daughter was born. He lived long enough to hold his daughter (although he was already unconscious) and died shortly thereafter. He was a young guy, and had started at Research in Motion, the parent company of the Blackberry product, when it was still a small company. Having gotten into the company early, he prospered, and life surely looked sweet for him and his wife. A lot can change in a week. :frowning:

Yikes! 31 years old, healthy athletic guy, just one week’s notice! :astonished:

Carpe Diem.

Oh, that’s sad. :frowning: Sigh.

Another reminder to cherish what we have, and live life to the fullest.
