Hotels in Taichung?

Hi! My parents will be coming to visit in a couple months, and I am trying to find a hotel near my house, but I can’t seem to find one. I would like something that is “tourist” class - 2 or 3 stars, but clean and comfortable and near Feng Chia University. It would be good if the front desk spoke a little English, and KTV girls were not going in and out of the hotel all hours of the night!

Any ideas? I’ve tried all the online hotel booking engines I can find, but they only mention the usual 5-star hotels, none of which are in the Feng Chia are.

Sorry I can’t be of any greater assistance than to offer that I once stayed in a hotel about 100 metres from Feng Chia Uni’s front gate - on your right as you head out of the university. As I recall, it had a green sign in Chinese and if you weren’t a Chinese reader you wouldn’t have known it was there. There was a reception back in off the street.

When I stayed there it was clean and in no way sleazy

Can generally get lower then the posted only rate with a little effort.
