Housing Laws

Can anyone tell me the housing laws here in Taiwan. I am a U.K.citizen (male) married to a Taiwanese. We have a house which is in my wife’s name.

What is my status regarding this house if my wife dies without leaving a will? Does the house automatically pass ownership 100% to me or does 50% pass to her Taiwan famliy, brothers sisters etc? :

If your wife dies without will, the house ownership will be automatically passed to you.
If you and your wife are divorced later unfortunately, the house only belong to your
wife.
If you and your wife have kids together, you and the kids share the ownership equally;
even the kids are very young(baby or toddler).

To clarify my earlier message:
If your wife dies and you do not have children the house goes 100% to you. If you have children together and your wife dies then each surviving family member (you and the children) has an equal share of the house. Each name would be registered on the land title. If you and your wife divorce the house is 100% her’s. :slight_smile:
