How can I plug an Australian blow dryer into a 220 V outlet?

I have an Australian blow dryer that I would like to use here in Taiwan. It’s designed to use 240 volts, but I’m sure that 220 volts would be enough because that’s only about 10% less than 240 volts.

So I would like to plug it into a 220 volt outlet, the kind that are in the living room and every bedroom in Taiwanese houses next to a little window which is designed for an air conditioner.

So I need to convert the plug so that it fits into a Taiwanese 220 volt outlet. Here is a picture of the Australian plug that’s on my blow dryer:

And here is a picture of the plug that I need to convert it to (officially called “NEMA 6-20P”):

Is there anywhere that sells a converter to convert the Australian plug to a “NEMA 6-20P” plug?

At this website, they show 13 different kinds of plugs used all over the world, and I have seen plug converters for all of these plugs. But none of these 13 plugs is the “NEMA 6-20P” plug, so it’s not the standard plug in any country in the world. Even in Taiwan, it’s only used for air conditioners.

I know that I can just cut off the Australian plug on my blow dryer and solder on a “NEMA 6-20P” plug (which is sold at every hardware store in Taiwan), but if I did that, then I couldn’t use the blow dryer in Australia, so it would be much better to have a plug converter so that I could use the blow dryer in both countries.

Any suggestions (other than to buy a 110 volt Taiwanese blow dryer, which I already have)?

The best thing is to remove the Australian plug and fit a correct shape plug on. Go to an electronics shop they will do it for you.

Just buy a hairdryer here. They’re cheap enough.

Nobody has mentioned the obvious suggestion, which is to use a hammer.
