Question:

What is the Foreign community most common used transportation vehicle bringing you from point A to B on an average weekly schedule?
Me think it is the MRT or a Scooter as I see the most of your ugly faces on those. :rainbow:
But I might be totally wrong. Just curious.

Myself, I drive a car. It is Big, scratched and bumped and I can use it as an indoor swimming pool in times of a Typhoon. :stuck_out_tongue:
I try to find the free parking space which fits one of the 50 credit cards and seldomly uses public transport as found not convenient and horrible ,being pushed, baring the smell of some, looking at the most rude bus drivers on this world etc.

For me? ; My car=My freedom. It bringes me everywhere (and yes, it is part of the Taiwanese polution… )

I drive a motorcycle. I don’t want to be associated with scooters.

Taxi to work, and bus back (sometimes MRT or taxi to go back). Else it’s bus, MRT or taxi, depending on where I want to go, if I am in a hurry etc.

husky and snow shoes

I walk. If I’m feeling lazy, I ride a MTB.

I almost always use foot and MRT. I use the odd bus and taxi now and then.

I think it depends on where you live and where you want to go .
If you are in a small town ,by scooter or feet is normal.

u should put taxi in the poll

MRT, MRT, how I love the MRT!

Bus to work and back, but mostly MRT for other stuff. If I CAN MRT it, then I will.

I use a MTB for fun only.

In the interest of protecting the environment, I only use the 49.9 cc put-put. Even when going to the 7-11 two doors down, I find it necessary to unpark the put-put, rev the engine, cut into traffic, scare an Ah-Ma or two, and park the put-put.

It is so refreshing to buy a 10ml yogurt drink after a hard day of fighting through traffic.

I agree, though di I left it out as I only know a few people who MOSTLY take a Taxi.
If it would be a Taxi arrangement made by your company, I presume it is as a car, but with a driver

Erm…no option for motorcycles?

MRT or walk, typically. Scooter if it’s late, or I am.

99.99% Taxi

bicycle most places. I did about 7,000 km last year on one of my bikes: only about half of that was commuting though, the rest training. longest one day trip: 210 km.

MRT and bus to work if its pouring hard.

scooter sometimes, especially for shopping far away or to collect my wife from work, or if I’m planning on drinking lots.

who needs a car here, really? i hire one occasionally, but i could not own one as there’s no parking spot in my apartment.

MRT certainly, with bus connection if I have to. I try to replace the latter with walking if I can.

Despite the buses’ awful reputation, they have improved a lot. Less stop-and-go driving, cleaner, some even have these over-the-top flowery curtains which make them look like KTVs on wheels.

Offtopic: the new transportation method I’m looking forward to the most, is the MRT to Taoyuan airport. No more bus rides through beautiful downtown Sanchong, thank you very much.

offtopic: and how long will that take? another five years at least. you could WALK to the airport faster than that. hell, you could even SWIM home faster.

i am like 90% taxi , 10% bus

Since the city government very thoughtfully opened a bicycle path along the river from my home to my buxiban, almost all bike- 5 minutes each way- cranes, water buffalo, ducks, fireflies and frogs at night.

Scooter for general chores, car for taking the kids to the beach on Sundays- too many surfboards for a “Taidong Special” (motorcycle with brackets for surfboard)
