How much do you spend?

I spend about 80k a month all told. I hardly go out. Where does it go? Fuck only knows. I pay 17k for my crib with no a/c, run a car and a bike, hardly smoke, drink relatively little these days … but still the money flows out my arse like lumpy diarrhoea. Oh well. Just as well I don’t give a shit, eh?

Rent: 0 (company pays)
Utilities: no idea, I haven’t received a bill yet - but since I don’t use aircon and phone calls are on the company, it shouldn’t be much
Food: 8k/month (estimate)
Car: 10k/month (but company gives me 22k/month allowance, so I actually make a profit …)
Travel: 12k/month (my wife lives in Singapore)
Others: 8k/month (estimate, I have no expensive hobbies)

Taiwan is cheap - I earn several times as much as I spend (and I’m not even an Expat).

Greetings,
Beppi

[EDIT] I forgot the 8k/month for Chinese lessons - the one luxury I decided to splurge on …

Averaging about 50k a month for a family of three.

Mortgage 16k
Food 10k
Going out 8k
Utilities 4k in winter, 6k in summer
Transport 6k
Kids schooling 5k

Give or take a few hundred

My food takes the lion’s share of my budget, not rent. I’d say almost 30%.

I recently realized I am spending 5 to 7 thousand NTs on pet food and supplies, about 10%.

Cat litter: over 1000 nts, 4 buckets from COSTCO
Cat and dog dry food: over 2000
Tuna for the cats: about 500 nts a month
Meat for the dog: about 500 a month
Frontline, Advantix, Heartguard, hairball paste, toothpaste and other essential grooming supplies: over 2000

And they will never grow old and support themselves…

Yes cats and dogs are forever 3 year old kids.

I spend too much. I don’t make enough.
