Just been to see my GP in the UK about migraine issues and she’s told me she’d like me to see a neurologist just to make sure all is ok.
The waiting list however is about 2 months, so I’m going to have to go private (which is about £300 per appointment).
So I’m weighing up my options, as it might be more cost efficient to just do it in Taipei / Taiwan when I get back in a few weeks.
Does anyone know how much a regular neurology appointment would be (without health insurance) and / or recommend a good English speaking one?
cheers guys!
If you go to medical center, the price would be higher. However, compared with the prices in UK, it’s still way much cheaper. I would say around $1,000 NTD per visit. Other additional fee might be added if you do other exam or expensive drugs.
Lots of Taiwanese patients came to us TCM doctors due to headache or Migraine after undergoing series of neurological examination and found that everything is within normal limit. According to our experience, the effect of controlling headache with Chinese herbal medicine and/or acupuncture is quite prominent for many patients. If your symptom persists after seeing a neurologist, I would recommend you to come give TCM a try. If you go to see neurologists in Tri-Service General Hospital, we will be able to see the result of the examination or any info recorded by your neurologist via our computer in hospitals. That would be helpful for us to make TCM treatment plans. If not, it’s no problem, we would ask you the examination result.
