How the Rule of Law works in the UK

Safeways (Morrisons) get off scott-free, and [url=http://www.lowickone.co.uk/index.html]a publican gets banged up for 8 weeks and fined

Don’t get me started…arghhh…nooo…too late.

“Robber gets suspende sentence, speeding motorist fails to pay fine and receives two months prison sentence…”

“Man catches car theif; get’s three months in jail…”

Sound familiar to any Brits?

Well for the past 5 or 6 years, this is what the country has come to. The government is able to persecute the law abiding citizens of the country (because they are the easiest to catch and deal with) while the scum of society, including the government, get away scott-free.

I hope the perserverance and stregnth of the British people will show through against the governments and a small revolution will ensue. Until then, it is clear to see that the rights of the normal citizen will be eroded further more until the present government will be wallowing in a pit of socialism.

and people wonder why Brits are in ever increasing numbers choosing to leave the land of their birth for good.

I see only a downward slope for the country.

While this is true, I read that the numbers are slightly skewed as about 60% return of all those who have emmigrated for good.

Seems the grass isn’t always greener, just different.

There are millions and millions of things I love about England, Scotland and Wales and I thought I could make a difference in the occupation that I choose to follow back home.
I will always be English, not “British,” even though I was born in another country and have a claim to that country’s nationality. I have faith in the people of the UK - we always pull through and this is just another one of these trying times which will eventually sort itself out.

Got to think positively. :s

DM, good on yer, but for me i have no wish, will or desire to return. To be honest i can only see a slippery downward slope.

Obviously i never spent enough time there as a child to acquire the same sense of affection and loyalty. :sunglasses:

I wasn’t going to mention Labour, but it took them 1 or two years to get going.

i’m English. why can’t we have a sense of nationalism like other countries do?

(Oh, yeah, I forgot. we get accused of being racist if we mention we are English).

Feel free to be English. I am just a bit more of a mongrel so British suits me better. I think the problem with ‘Englishness’ is that it kinda got hijacked by ‘football’ thugs and that this image has been hard to dislodge. hopefully in time ‘Englishness’ will revert to meaning a stiff upper lip and waiting for the rain to stop so we can get in a few overs before lunch. :rainbow:

A mongrel, Eh?

Too true, and I hope so.
