How to book an appointment at TMUH (Taipei Medical University Hospital)

I keep trying to book an appointment for a doctor at TMUH and I’m booking as a new patient, so I need to register first. But everytime I’m filling up my details, I get an error: “Data error! Please check your data!”

I have no idea what could be wrong because they don’t show you which field is getting an error. It’s driving me nuts. Does anyone else know how to go through with this?

Or are there other hospitals in Taipei with a better English interface for booking appointments?

TMUH has probably the easiest/best English website I’ve come across for a hospital in Taiwan.

Did you put the “@” symbol before your ID number?

Right?! It’s nice that I don’t have to google translate every second but it’s driving me crazy getting Data error…

Yes, I put the @. The took it out. Then tried my passport number, but nothing.

Does it have a name length limit? I don’t have a Chinese name on my ARC yet so it’s longer than what’s usually allowed… or should the address be in Chinese, not English?

Probably best to get just near to the hospital and fake some health event and call for an ambulance. You’ll get right in. You probably need some acting skill. Have your words in order.

I first registered several years ago before I had an ARC or NHI, but I don’t remember having any problems with the process.

It should accept both old and new ARC numbers, but you definitely need the “@” symbol. I don’t remember there being a limit on the name length — mine is 18 characters including spaces, and I don’t have a Chinese name either.

You could try putting in your address in Chinese I suppose, but I don’t remember what I did. I don’t see anything else on the new patient registration page that might cause a problem either…

Maybe try again in case you missed something…?

I have the new one that only has one letter which is different from the example… I’ll keep trying but I already booked in another hospital (full of mostly old doctors which I wanted to avoid). At worst I’ll probably just try to find some time to go to the hospital directly to register me I guess. Thanks for responding :folded_hands:

With these weird cases, you can first try to fill the form in another browser. If it doesn’t work in any browsers, go in person and one of the volunteers (usually old ladies with a yellow shirt) can help you get registered.
