How to find a dreamjob in Taiwan?

So, the ‘jobs’ (if they exist) are not managerial but rather at lower levels? I am not saying there is anything wrong with this, I am just curious.

Maybe another approach could be to hang around in bars close to international events or international hotels and chat to any lonely or distraught looking foreigners. You then have a chance to meet the ‘buyer’ or ‘engineers’ of oversea companies doing business in Taiwan.

If they are having a bad day dealing with a Taiwanese company, or there project is getting delayed due to the communication barrier you could be in with a shot of selling yourself as an ‘on the ground resource’. If the person is middle aged and hates traveling/being sent over to Taiwan to deal with the sh@# every few weeks they will be begging for you to work for them.

Every exec over here would love to have a resource on the ground doing the dirty work so they can have a stress-free life back in the home country…

The best part of job seeking in this way is you get to drink yourself silly every night of the week

Although there are no guarantees it will ever net you a job, you will have some fun searching :loco:

The Oriented Happy Hours are an excellent opportunity to meet all kinds of Taiwanese and foreign folks; an excellent place to meet people, who in their turn can introduce you to other people with so-called “hiring-power”; let’s call them “decision-makers”.

Other clubs such as Toastmasters (Taiwanese making English speeches), perhaps even Hash House Harriers or gatherings of certain countries are great places to meet “decision makers”.

Right now, I’m thinking again about the easy way, which is teaching English, but also realise that it only can be a temporary solution. Once you get into your 40’s or perhaps even younger, one may not be able to have enough "emotional energy’ to teach the youngsters.
That’s why I surely consider a “carreer change”.

Could hanging out in bars be a solution? Perhaps.
How about sending out one’s resume to HRM companies? Head-hunters? Executive Search Companies in Taiwan?

Any other ideas? All feedback-even the craziest ideas are welcome.
