How to get package delivery without permanent address

Thinking of ordering some items from Amazon but I’ve been moving around to different AirBNBs so I don’t have a reliable address. I thought maybe 7-11 could receive my package, but a friend tells me that’s only when the shipper is set up specifically for that. Any ideas? Preferably something not too hard for an English-only speaker. I’m in Taipei.

Thanks

Deliver to a friends house?

Just have someone get a PO box for you.

I don’t have any friends in Taipei. Just landed in April

Try asking your AirBNB host to see if they are willing to hold your package for you.

What are you thinking of ordering off from Amazon? Don’t forget about Costco.

That might be an option. Though I’ll probably have checked out like two weeks before my package arrives ha. I’m not real sure how packages get delivered to the places I’ve stayed in so far. If it’s to the door that wouldn’t work. The host only comes at check-in/checkout of course

Thinking of ordering a GoPro shoulder mount that looks better than those I see on Shopee (anyone know the Chinese for ball joint?). The Osmo Action camera is also $50 cheaper there than here. Couple other random things as well.

Be careful of customs tax, too, when you shop. Try to keep orders below 2,000 NT. Also if you have a GoPro subscription you get a discount on accessories.

Semi-related: if I order from a place that does deliver to 7-11, how many days will they hold the package for me?

About a week, limit pickup date is in order page.

Correct me if i am wrong, but 711 does 7 to 7 deliveries, they dont accept international postal packages.

I think you either need to get a po box or find someone willing to help you.

You can ask the post office whether they still offer poste restante. It’s listed in the FAQ which hasn’t been updated in years.

If you plan on staying for awhile, I would eat the extra cost as most of the times, when it comes to warranties for items bought overseas, the local distributor may not honor it or you will have to pay for repairs.

As for your initial question, best ask the post office or your BNB host. If you order it today and know that the package will arrive in 7+ days, just have it sent to your next BnB or your host’s address. If it arrives early, just notify your BnB host, most of the time, they’re more than happy to help.

In the US you can deliver to a FedEx office and they’ll keep the package for you. Not sure if that works in Taiwan (or even if there’s FedEx offices in Taiwan).

That could work too! If it’s an international courier, I believe you can send it to the freight station. If you can’t, you can always just give them your BnB address and if they miss you 2 times, they’ll ask you to go pick it up.

Isn’t there such a thing as general delivery? Don’t some post offices act as agents for international couriers?
