Depends on what you want to do. If you show up here on vacation for a couple of months and someone offers you a job teaching English or doing tech writing or something, you can usually convert your tourist visa. If you are in some industry that doesn’t require foreign-language skills (waitress, motorcycle repairman), you may not be able to get a working visa at all.
Where are you coming from and what do you want to do? Judging from your phrasing, I’d guess you aren’t a native English speaker. That might limit things, as one common bit of advice is to just show up and look for work teaching English until your dream job comes along.
