I plan to register a representative office in Taiwan, but in the meantime I’m going back to Bangkok to attend to some matters.
I hope to obtain a business VISA from TECO in Bangkok instead of the usual VISA exempt entry which grants me only 30 days. But I doubt the registration procedure will justify anything more than 30 days (I plan to get a 60-day business VISA).
How do I justify that I need a business VISA to complete my registration of a representative office, application for WP and ARC ?
You need a letter from the company who you’re going to set up the rep office in behalf of stating that you’re going to be the representative in Taiwan for the company. That should be enough to do the trick. However, you need to apply for a resident visa, as a business visa isn’t going to allow you to get an ARC. However, the business visa can be changed into a resident visa in Taiwan, for a fee.
I see. But I’m not sure if you understood my question correctly.
I’m currently on Visitor’s VISA, so will have to leave Taiwan. But at some point, I need to come back to complete the registration of my RO, and before the RO is registered, there is no issue of obtaining a Resident VISA or ARC. So I’m either on Exemption which carries only 30 days, or if I apply for a Visitor VISA or Business VISA, which will be 60 days which period I would need to justify.
