How to Survive Tinder and the Dating Apocalypse

You are absolutely correct. Sad and lonely would be the highest number of people that fall victim to the scams. Thank you for the correction.

I have my scam shield way up now so I’m good plus being broke is a huge defense

The two supposedly tw girls gave up and pulled the plug

Now only Philippine girls hitting me up just waiting for them to have to take their Buffalo to the hospital and need a bit of money

Haha

I am coming to the conclusion they are all scams

but these things have helped me see all the scam

ways and made me smarter

Ic why tik tok Scammers Migrated to Tinder cuz it’s actually free you only pay 24 a month if you want to see other locations activity outside your geo position (of course you can use one of those VPN to solve this but that costs money too) and 40 a month to see who matches you lol

I cancelled my 24 a month so no switching locations. I did want to see whats up with the taiwan tinder scene. But as pointed out its mostly 18 to 30 year olds and nobody will be intd in me there.

Still got an active account tho

It’s entertainment for me not expecting to actually meet anyone

I am sad and lonely, but I have never been a victim of a scam

Because I am also poor.

im like you but i fell victim a few months ago to a fake bitcoin exchange and lost 200 bucks. Money went in and made paper profit ( i was up to 375 dollars so called with my 200 investment) but i then realized money could NOT be withdrawn. LOL. (actually not funny). So that was it.

no more

and the funny thing is i couldve done that just by using the VENMO app where you can invest in digital coin ! The money would’ve gone up to 375 but its down now too probably will be below the intial investment of 200. But at least its legit.

In USA/Eu on work trip, many people outside of Asia do not know of this

Maybe there do not, but I also know many have no relations way over 30 and looking good, as conservative and shy to meet new people (I meet some via friends which seems common)

Update: deleted my tinder after only two weeks it was an experiment for me but ultimately almost al were scammers or unsuitable even if real

I predict tinder won’t last as bots take over

Tommy, have you tried hitting up coma survivors? Could be worth a shot.

Dam ! a New LOW there

I found my wife on Tinder in August of 2015 (ironically when this thread started). The app always had its frustrations, but people did make connections on it back then. Hook ups of course, but also relationships. This was an earlier and relatively more innocent time in the app’s history. I hear it’s much worse now, at least in the states. Tons of micro transactions, every function is gamified, most women interested in you are bots or scammers, and only 5% of guys are getting 95% of the real women. I also hear it’s in Tinder’s interest you get strung along without actually finding someone to settle down with because then you’ll delete the app… so it’s hellish by design. I don’t know for certain if it’s this “apocalyptic” but this is what I’m hearing online and from younger friends. Sounds like it’s rough to be in the dating world nowadays. I’m glad to be free of it.

Bumble works better. Many of the same faces, but they actually connect with you on there and meet. Which makes me think tinder is acting unscrupulously.

Great post.

In a way, the hellishness of this app mirrors a larger trend: how the internet has unmistakeable become sh&ttier.

Guy

She must’ve wanted soooooooooooooooo much for the relationship to be true.

Brutal. But this should come as no shock to most men. Spoiler: on a scale of 1 to 5, most men rank 2, with very very very few ranking 4 or above.

If you’re a guy and not in the top 1% of lookers, just give up on shallow dating sites where you are nothing but a photo to be judged and swiped within a 3 second window. The only way to get a woman is to talk to and interact with one and impress her with how smart, kind, funny, charming, etc. you are. She’s not going to pick you because you’re handsome because the vast majority of men are just ‘meh’ to the average woman.

To be fair, this isn’t a gender thing, it’s a human thing. :man_shrugging:

I dunno, the dog on the left in that video looks like quite a bit of fun!

Never give up hope! :grandpa:

Guy

Tbh no men wanna be on dating sites. All men know it’s a scam. They are there because there are no other alternatives

Hard disagree on that:

  • anything outdoors
  • anything indoors that’s not your own residence

Literally hundreds or thousands of options to meet people within easy reach!

And that’s not even leveraging the friends and family network for intros to potential matches.

“I like your dog…”
