Is it still possible to do direct consular filing (DCF) at the AIT? Mailing the documents to lockboxes in the U.S. isn’t direct consular filing, and will take a lot more time than DCF should, if I understand correctly.
Seems like I found the answer. The text on AIT’s website is extremely confusing, but based on information from www.visajourney.com (a great website for U.S. immigration info), it seems that DCF has been discontinued in all countries without USCIS offices (that includes Taiwan). HOWEVER, the USCIS has been unofficially “auto-expediting” I-130 petitions which are filed using foreign addresses. Good to know!
