I am starting to worry about my life after retirement

You cannot get R.O.C. citizenship, I guess

Just get a visa. There are many types.

Somebody sounds confused…as usual. Why so many confused hyphenated Chinese everywhere eh. Keep the story straight will ya

Green card, US citizen, go back to China, lived in Taiwan…wtf lol

I don’t see why that would be necessary.

If I were gonna write a story about how a Chinese spy gets into Taiwan —-

Objectively, living in the US is far superior to living in the Chinese speaking world. You get to own guns, drive trucks on proper roads without all the scooters blocking your way, and there are plenty of nutritious food options around that don’t just close after 6 months due to going out of fashion.

Depends where, and how much money you have.

Quite a few negatives on that front.

Again, depends where. And likely to cost a grip more.

I hear sarcasm there though is met with pedantic cynicism.

Kind of suspect on a taiwanese forum as well. It doesn’t add up. Best of luck, but may be a 5 cent’er

shit posting is on point today boys. bravo

I don’t see any good options anywhere for old people on their own in retirement. I lucked into the perfect retirement option myself by marrying a Taiwanese woman who just happens to be Taiwan’s version of Mother Teresa when it comes to caring for old family members as they take their sweet time shuffling off this mortal coil. The only downside is she swears she’s going to feed me congee for breakfast every morning when I become a dotard whether I like it or not. I just hope I’m too out of it by then to care.

I foresee me being “encouraged” to “die with dignity” by the time I get to retirement age…

I get what you’re saying culturally but Calgary ain’t so bad. The neighborhood where I was born (and the robust job market) is lovely for retirees and very posh. I’d take upper-middle class Calgary living over most cities in Canada. Like Austin in Texas, Calgary has a bohemian element and is way more diverse (Muslim mayor, gay mayor, etc.) than the stereotypes folks make of it.

It IS Sunday.

It’s a poor effort at shitposting if so …

Well I personally myself have gone from how can a Chinese person retire to it might be a spy. I’ve done my best!

Bear more children. Let them take care of you. 7 or 8 is enough id guess

They pay ppl 50k to 100k twd per birth in taiwan. So if you bore 10 babies, you can retire a milloonaire

On March 21, the Taipei City Council approved the amendment to the “Taipei City Childbirth Incentive Payment Regulations”, which increases the amount of incentive bonuses for the first child to NT$40,000, the second child to NT$45,000, and the third child or more to NT$50,000; all newborns born after April 4, 2023 (inclusive) can benefit from the new regulations.

What’s wrong with the city of USA?

What are your other citizenships? Your options are based on what other residencies you can obtain

Perhaps New Zealand or Australia?

Um… I’m sorry, I should have known I shouldn’t have brought this kind of topic to the “forum,” but I’m not the “spy” some people have mentioned… My hometown is Taipei, but my family moved to Zhuhai a long time ago, so I went to school in Zhuhai. I attended Xiangzhou Elementary School, Mingzhu Bilingual School for junior high, and then went to the United States for high school, where I later obtained a master’s degree. Is that clear enough? That’s why I want to talk to people one-on-one. Some people always think they’re like “Sherlock Holmes,” always believing they’ve found your weakness, which is very uncomfortable.
