I did a digital declutter!

Bingo

I’m not the OP but could have made the post. I did the same about two months back when I read a pair of books on the topic and it was an entirely positive experience. It really broke the attraction of Facebook for me. I have a few dozen people who I have tagged to receive email updates for and if I am mentioned in a post, I go in to read it but, outside of that, I don’t feel the compulsion to check whatever it is that people are talking about. When you try to be aware of how social media pulls people in, you are able to see the impact it has on yourself. I admit that I need to install actual blockers on the internet when I want to really get things done (and do so for days at a time).

I really do feel sorry for the people who were born into the matrix and don’t realize that unplugging is even a thing.

Recommend “Digital Minimalism” by Cal Newport.

Yeah. I read Make Time then Newport’s book before I decided that I needed to unplug a bit.
