I have a confusing situation. HELP!

OK, maybe it’s not confusing to you, but I don’t know what it means for me.

In fall 2007, I obtained a Residency Visa (multiple entry) for Taiwan after getting a Visitor Visa. I lived in Taiwan for an academic year, going to school at TKU.

I read somewhere that resident visas last about four years, typically. Is this true? Is there a way I can verify that my visa is like that? I swear to god, there is no expiration date on my visa. Of course, my ARC is expired.

So what does this mean. Do I have to go through the hassle of driving 3.5 hours to Chicago just to drop off my stuff to get a visitor’s visa? Or can I just enter on my old Residence Visa and get a new ARC, or get my ARC reactivated?

Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, your visa is cancelled as soon as your ARC becomes invalid.
