I looked into Taiwan’s pension so you don’t have to

dunno, I was only aware that the post office bank let u access pension via the ATM card if properly set up

Oh, that might be the new rule then, i’ll try that. I used to be able to access from any Taishin ATM prior to 2022 or 2023

Taishin should work.

I have it set up with Land Bank and Post Bank, but haven’t checked in years.

I just went to the labor dept yesterday and apparently the total i’m supposed to be receiving when i’m 65 is substantially less than it was in 2023 when I did the same check. How does this value go down? Just example numbers to give you an idea. 2023 100,000 now in 2025 93,000.

Shouldn’t be although there are two different pension systems.
The value of the pension pot can go down on a bad year for the stock market . This year it will be a very good year. Check again next month. I’m not sure when they make the adjustments.

They calculate every month but the adjustment is probably on an annual basis

Taiwan’s pension system isn’t great. It’s far too concentrated in Taiwan markets making it more risky.

However…from what I can see it has grown VERY well in 2024 and 2025 so impossible to be less than 2023. Probably an error somewhere.

Thanks for the info. The same person at the dept of labor who did the calculations also said there is no such thing as early withdrawal prior to age 65 which is also not correct, so yeah prob a calculation error.

There are also two pension funds , one old one new.
Confirm which one, go back in and check again with them.
And it’s well know that we can start taking out after 60 and the other after 65 …verify which one you contributed to.

Thanks. If there are two pension funds, wouldn’t the person at the desk ask which one or know which pension fund I contributed to? Seems (more than seems) like the government should know there are two options and they didn’t ask.

I know I have conributed to the new scam,uh em sorry, scheme. And pention funds do not go down in years of stock market growth. Period.
