Has the venue for his concert in Taiwan been fixed ?
And whoās going to stand in line to buy tickets for everybody?
I think itās actually down in Kaoshiung?!
kaohsiung? Iāll go. I dreamed the other night that his band all got sick so he asked the Muddy Basin Ramblers to back him. it was a stupendous night, except that our frontman insisted on doing his Bob Dylan voice on all his spots (at which heās adept, incidentally), which raised the eyebrows of his esteemed Bobness, but it was all good. Itās a memory Iāll cherish forever.
Masters of War. He actually sang this last time I saw him. Valid now just as much as it was when he first performed it in the 60ās. Timeless.

Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks
You that never done nothinā
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like itās your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly
Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain
You fasten the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young peopleās blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud
Youāve thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You aināt worth the blood
That runs in your veins
How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that Iām young
You might say Iām unlearned
But thereās one thing I know
Though Iām younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do
Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul
And I hope that you die
And your deathāll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And Iāll watch while youāre lowered
Down to your deathbed
And Iāll stand oāer your grave
'Til Iām sure that youāre dead
My knowledge of his music starts getting shaky around 1970, but a while back I visited that site that has all his lyrics, and some of his later stuff looks interesting lyrically, so maybe Iāll check it out.
Itās a trip, though, he just kept on, just kept on going.
Anyway, here are three from among my favorites.

Neither did Bob. Just another bullshit rumour, of course.

What a great song. Of course everyone has played it for almost a hundred years.
I like Leo Kottkeās version (better than Dylan )
Hereās Robt Plant singing it
This oldie from Ray Peterson is pretty hilarious

Yeah, it is a pity. He was in Japan and Korea though.
It seems he also wonāt play in Hongkong on the 8th of April.
Let me be the first to say happy birthday Bob.
Bob Dylan performs in Hong Kong on August 4, 2018
Iāve seen Bob twice in the last year. His new show is absolutely spectacular. Heās reworked everything as usual, and he croons some real old jazz club tunes. If yer a fan, go.
He wonāt be around forever, and as someone who was hesitant to see him at his age after seeing heading towards the light BB King and withering away Rodriguez and being majorly disappointed by both of them, I can testify that this version of Bob is worth it.

Heās in Taipei too.
That would be cheaper then.
August 2 at TICC.
This upcoming Scorcese movie looks interesting. There are some great photos in this article:
