I voted for that no-good low-life Chen Shui Bian in 2004 out of sympathy cause he got shot.
Did you?
Anyone know anyone else who did that?
First post…
I assume no one was that dumb on this board.
Sean is feeling a tad mixed-up!
Are you a woman?
What kind of defective personality actually wastes a vote out of sympathy? Especially for some pouting, pig-faced solicitor and his odious sow of a running mate!
At least come up with a really plausible excuse, such as alien probes…
I’ve had more than one friend tell me that (maybe 3 people, I don’t remember). They’re different enough that I think the events of 3/19 were enough to sway the vote. Very weird.
Wow, some of you guys have broken sarcasm detectors or have posts that sunk in perception (won’t name whom). I’ve simply noticed that many Western papers have been bringing up the Sympathy vote myth. So far I’ve never found anyone whom has actually crossed party lines as a result of Chen being shot.
Its like those Democrats whom thought that Bob Dole should have died even though the man almost did from Vietnam. He didn’t get any sympathy votes there either.
Apparently some others have broken brains (I won’t name names either). You voted for DPP, of course you aren’t going to cross party lines. Sympathy may generate higher turnout among DPP leaning people, especially the undecided.
Well, in Taiwan we can still vote, and that is not thanks to PRC.
KMT are also still reluctant to the the process of free voting; just look at the reaction the last couple of presidential elections - neither KMT or PRC was very supportive of the outcome.
