Ian Easton on Taiwan: ... in the 2020s, Xi Jinping (習近平) is probably going to invade Taiwan if nothing major changes

I don’t know either—I’m no specialist. But Bremmer thinks we’re heading to this noncompatible world. And short of military take-over, it’s clear which side Taiwan will be on.

Yup, and we are not in the CKS times anymore. That is why you see all those damn Chinese flags at the Taipei 101. “freedom of speech”.

The big date is 2022. Xi is supposed to step down on that date, if he chooses to stay in power then he will need to consolidate his power. Enough people in the CCP are unhappy with Xi.

The big play is to wait for Xi to punch himself out and get taken down. If Taiwan can outlast Xi, then there is a good chance that someone less hawkish will replace him. Many powerful people from the Shanghai Clique and other factions in the CCP want to go back to a more economically liberal and normal model.

Presently the red second generation plus Chinese dissidents residing in the USA are cooperating with the American government to reform the CCP and the leadership of emperor pooh.

Who told u this?

I watch YouTube interviews/videos of political commentators etc. Search on YouTube. They normally speak in either Mandarin or Cantonese with Chinese subtitles. American Thought Leaders just interviewed Solomon Yue in English in their program yesterday.

Who do u follow?

With all the engineers on this island they should be able to make a s…t load of improvised explosives , should the commies limited amount of amphibious landing craft make it over. As for missiles well modern frigates can take out about 200 missiles within a few minutes. It could be hell for the CCP. Although as a previous poster pointed at there are many traitors on the island.

I don’t follow…just watch some reliable sources on YouTube and draw my own conclusions based on my education and experience.

Then who are u watching?

The American military is the winner…no bets needed!

On the sea and the air yes, especially on the sea, no one even close.

Let me make a list and post here. Stay tuned.

Give it time. I firmly believe its gonna get bumpy for Chinese economy (I consider 3-ish percent growth rates bumpy for China btw). All these people only believe in China because they think its a superior model and will abandon China soon after it loses its glitz and glimmer.

Decoupling and bifurcation are now happening rapidly evolving both China’s and global economies.

And Russia has good delivery systems unlike the CCP’S shoddy ones. The Chinese air force is pretty decent though. And they are obviously good at creating viruses

Nuclear weapons are outdated now. Cyberwar and bioweapons are the new flavours of the 21st century.
