I’m curious if anyone would have any ideas on what make of exhaust silencers would be compatible with the Yamaha DT version found in Taiwan. Ever heard of this being done on other 2 stroke engines? Any advice or ideas on quieting the beast would be great?
A lot of the noise the DT makes is from the airbox, so not much you can do about that. It is possible to get a shop to cut the old muffler off the last section of the exhaust and weld a standard flange on there. Then you can bolt on the OE muffler from a late model RZX or RZR. That quiets things down quite a lot and doesn’t hurt performance.
