If you visit Hu-Kou, what’s interesting for you? Could you list something that is interesting for you? I really need your help. Thank you very much.

Where is Hukou?

10 KM south of here, if it’s the Hukou inm northern Xinzhu county.

I would say that the old street is the only thing, I liked, but then again it’s the only thing I have seen.

It’s a bit small though.

The most interesting thing I discovered in Hu-Kou is the 48 trains to Taipei, daily.

Hu-Kou is a small town in hsinchu country. Maybe you can not find this town on map. It does not matter. I just hope you can tell me something about your opinions, such as if you plan to travel a place, what are things, food or beautiful place… you want to know. Thank you!!

Well, that’s a difficult question Emma. For most people, they’d first probably want to know what the place is well-known for, what kind of special food is available there, what kind of activities you can do there, that kind of thing.

I get the feeling you might be working for some kind of tourist organization or a government agency or something. A better way to get the information you want might be to tell us what’s available in Hukou that isn’t available anywhere else, what kinds of activities can you do at Houkou, what kind of special food is it known for, what kind of places are there to stay, that kind of thing.
Then perhaps we could tell you what is appealing to us, what we don’t like, and what we WOULD like.

Sounds to me like Emma is a student and has to do some homework on why people go to Hukou and what they find interesting there… is that the case?

Indeed, I am a student in Taiwan. Now, I want to do my graduate report about Hu-Kou. So, I really realy need your help. Our teacher recommended this website. And because some questions I don’t how to speak in English, I hope you can know what I mean. Sorry… :help:

Good English you have blossoming there Emma. All the best. Sadly I can’t recall ever going to Hukou, is it on the coast? If so, what are the beaches like?

Since I haven’t seen the Chinese, I’m guessing Hukou means tiger’s mouth. Why is it called that?

HG

I think it’s lake mouth, actually.

Apart from sceptic Yank, I guess that I know Hukou as well as any forumosa. I live nearby. There’s a nice coffee shop, on the somewhat empty “old street”. I also went there to look at a printing factory. It was too expensive, so I never gave them any business.

But no, Hukou did not leave any impression on me whatsoever. Sorry. Try to go there and talk to people and the local government. You might learn enough to fill a paper.

Old street, small manufacturing and the most scantily clad betel nut girls you’ve ever seen.

And, you know you are halfway to Hsinchu from Yangmei on Provencial highway one…Thats about it.

I spend more time there then I want to…Your report will be very short.

I’d suggest finding out how the city was settled historically. Maybe it had a heyday sometime in yesteryear, but certainly not the case now.
