If you're in the mood for Dairy Queen - "Frozen Ole's"

Except with better ingredients, I’m opening a soft serve/frozen yogurt shop in Yong He, near Yongan Market Station. It’s called “Frozen Ole’s” (my ode to my home state of Minnesota) and we will offer American-style mix-in treats (ala Blizzards), sundaes, shakes and malts, as well as a great line of blended drinks from America called “Big Train” - bigtrain.com (very popular in American coffeehouses).

Our soft serve is made with real sugar, cream and milk … not the watered down chemical tasting crap at McDonalds or local night markets. The yogurt is of the highest quality and very tart, with a mild taste of milk. We’re opening on Saturday, September 24. Our hours will be from 3-10 every day.

Here’s the address: 新北市中和區新興街15巷3號
No.3, Ln. 15, Sinsing St., Jhonghe Dist., New Taipei City 235

Look forward to seeing you come by!

Erik

Me like that. I do honestly enjoy a big ice creamy thingamasweetajig every now and again.

Excellent. Luck.

Do you have the public transportation MRT/bus instructions? They would be useful. Best of luck on your venture.

Good luck! Sounds like a winner! :discodance:

Go Twins!

This is far from us, but sounds like a great idea, and I wish you the very best of luck with it!

I give this place a thumbs up.

We made the trek out there and found it after a little looking. It’s just north of YongAn MRT stop. Take the first right after the MRT just before the Hi Life.

I had the mint Oreo Yeti (that’s their version of the Blizzard) and the kids had the triple chocolate one. Both were good but I thought the mint was great. It tasted really creamy. My wife had the macadamia nut coffee, which was certainly reasonably priced, but a bit too large and was filled to the brim. There was no space left for fresh milk, which would have been nice to have.

We’ll be back.

Thanks for the nice review! It was great meeting you - and I’m happy you enjoyed the ice cream. I’ve definitely instructed employees to ask about cream before filling coffee cups.

Tried it…Like it a lot. I wished this would have been open when I lived so close to Yongan Market MRT but Dingxi is not that far.

Anyone out there miss good old-fashioned ice cream cones on a hot summer day? We’re a small ice cream shop specializing in unique American-style flavors of hard ice cream (I’m partial to chunks of goodies crushed in mine), located near Yongan Market MRT on the Orange Line. I make it fresh and handmade in small batches.

Right now, in our freezer case, I’ve got the standbys, Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla, along with our very popular Coffee Oreo and Peppermint Oreo flavors. Our Rocky Road (chocolate ice cream with mini marshmallows, toasted almonds and chocolate chunks) has been doing well, along with our Rum Raisin, Salted Caramel Frozen Yogurt and Cinnamon Apple Crumble Frozen Yogurt. Just finished a delicious batch of Peanut Butter Cup ice cream, made with homemade peanut butter cups that rival the original.

We have lots of rotating flavors, including Chocolate Covered Cherry, Maple Pecan Bacon, Honey Walnut, Lemon Vanilla Oreo, Mocha Almond Fudge, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and dozens more . If you have a craving for a flavor from back home we can schedule it, and arrange for liter pick ups too.

We will soon be mailing our ice cream across Taiwan too (as soon as we figure out a reliable refrigerated delivery company), but we’re always available for pick up, and local delivery. If you’ve got a restaurant and want us to deliver some samples to try, I’ll be happy to do that right away. We will also have a very popular “12 scoops to go” in an insulated foam box that will give you a little taste of everything.

Also in our store, we have frozen drinks from the US called Big Train that are really delicious. We have homemade hot fudge sundaes, root beer floats, and some other ice cream treats as well.

Cheers all!

Sounds good. I will check it out next time I’m in the area.

Mods, there’s already an existing thread for this shop, started by the same poster.

I guess I need to try this place sometime. I live about 1 minute from it, but it looks nearly deserted every time I walk by. My guess is the location is not the best, so there’s not a lot of foot traffic that stops in.

Also, I couldn’t get this website to load. Maybe it’s just a temporary problem:
visit our Chinese language store blog at www.frozenoles.com
This place is really great! The ice cream is delicious (so much so that I go about once a week). The rocky road, mint oreo, and honey graham are my top picks. I tried the bacon one, but it wasn’t really my cup of tea-it was interesting though! I’m sure I’ll be stopping by for the peanut butter cup this week, yum!
The shop is really close to a huge park, so on a nice day, it’s great to pick up a cone and sit outside for a bit.

Our ice cream is mostly sold to Taiwan restaurants, coffeehouses, and by mail, delivery and pickup. We do very little advertising to get people to walk in the door and that’s definitely not our primary focus. A little plug to Sababa, which is now offering our ice cream for the summer!

I really miss the fluries or whatever you called them last year. The Oreo one was especially good. Me and the kids enjoyed the ice cream last time and will be back again soon.
