I had a rather unpleasant experience in Taiwan recently - somebody broke into our flat and stole stuff from our living room while we were asleep. 
One of the valuables stolen was my wife’s cell phone.
Now I’m wondering whether we can block usage of that phone in Taiwan. Does Taiwan operate an IMEI blacklist?
Also, is there any way to get the IMEI number from the phone company? I can’t get it out of the phone anymore, obviously, and the box it came in is back in our place in Germany. The IMEI is used by the network to identify a valid device, so it seems like it could be logged as well. The phone company said no, but maybe we weren’t insistent enough or didn’t ask the right questions. Does anyone have an insight in that?
