Seems like a very bad idea to move to Greece these days. If you (the OP) really needs to for marriage or something, you’ll find better information in a group for expats IN Greece. Most of the people here are in or were in Taiwan.

That certainly doesn’t sound very attractive as a migration destination.

Some people just want a EU passport or residency.

Just because a country is poor doesn’t mean they have lax immigration laws. Some of the poorest countries in the world has some of the worlds most restrictive immigration laws. It’s often why they’re so poor in the first place.

Don’t forget the bankruptcy fiasco about seven years ago plus the world bank needing to lend to Greece then.

And constant protests. I was in Greece around that time. There were constant brownouts and the Internet hardly worked. I was told that the electric company workers were cycling the electricity supply as their protest.
