Does anyone know where I can get the implanon implant removed / replaced in Taipei. I have a friend who went to the veterans where the doctor watched a youtube video before removing hers…a bit dodgy I think. I’ve read that NTU have been surveying the implant and would like to trial it in Taiwan, but I can’t find any recent information out there.

I’m local Taiwanese. I believe any OB/GYN can do the removal, with which I believe the doctors had such experience bfore. You can ask them. But replacement is still prohibited. Or maybe there are other Implanon alternaitves that are approved by TFDA. Also ask the docs.
Any news on this kind of etonogestrel implants like Implanon, Nexplanon, …? Legal in Taiwan now?

I currently have a subd dermal implant (implanon NXT) placed in me, I will remove it this month because it is coming to its expiration date. I’d like to put on a new one, but these last 3 years and I’ll be in TW for 5 years so I’d like to know if the removal and placement of this can be done again there, where and for how much if any of y’all have experience with this
Looks like you might want to get it replaced before you come here. They’re not approved by the local health authorities as far as I know.
No news on whether this is registered in Taiwan. I thought Implanon NXT is a Merck (MSD) product
A search for “Implanon NXT Taiwan” on Pubmed only turned up studies from the 1998 and before – so tough luck finding docs who you can reach for more info
