Import duties for Taiwanese product from abroad?

This is kind of a silly question. On ebay someone’s selling a musical instrument “like new.” I live near the Taiwanese shop that sells these and they’re like 90,000 nt but on ebay it’s only $900US. I’m tempted to buy it and wondering if there is a way to get out of import duties since it’s essentially “returning” to Taiwan. Any advice on this? Is there a tax office I could visit in person to get a form from or something?

You mean the instrument is made in Taiwan? I don’t think it makes any difference. If you’re importing from the US, then they will charge import duties - about 20% on musical instruments, I think, for some bizarre reason.
