I’ll probably end up getting a local machine anyway, but I’ve brought my US PS2. Does anyone know of a shop anywhere in Taipei that imports American games?
There are non. You can get your PS2 modified to play Japanese games though.
I had thought about it if there weren’t many american games around…

I don’t remeber the names, but there were two shops at the Bade computer market that said they would do it when I asked them (that was about 2 years ago though). There were places in Nova (near Taipei Mainstation) that said they would do it too.
If you are into games that require reading text and don’t understand Japanese, I would stick to the US PS2. I would suggest ordering from Amazon.com since their shipping rates are pretty reasonable and might be cheaper than having the stores in Taiwan charge you more for importing stuff. It’ll just take about 2 weeks to get there.
