Would anybody happen to know anything about importing your own car into Taiwan. Can it be done? Any import duties involved? If you can get it into the country, can you get it licensed, taxed, insured, etc…
Appreciate any advice.

The link provided by Hexuan is quite good, but the one thing it does not mention in any detail is that if the type of car you are trying to import has never been officially imported before then it must undergo homologation testing, without which the other stamp etc cannot be obtained.
It is also worth noting that some marques of cars depreciate in real market terms much differently than others, and it may be possible to buy the car you want here cheaper than bringing your own, paying the fees and taxes due.
