In which city do you live?

I was just curious about how Taipei-centric this forum is.
I lived in Taichung when I first moved here. Now I live in Taipei. I will start another thread about what city is your favorite in Taiwan and why.
I’m thinking about moving down to Chaiyi if I can learn how to spell it.

I’ve been in Chiayi about 3.5 years. It’s a quiet little place.
Yonghe… across the street is Zhonghe, both Taipei County. Yeah, I’m literally sitting on the fences 
I’m in Taoyuan. Was in Taichung five and six years back. Hope to be in Taipei next year, if I can find a quiet neighbourhood not too far from the right kind of parks and handy to the MRT.

Kaohsiung county, near Lin Yuan… chou tofu central.
Taoyuan, nearly 3 years. Jhongli for a year before that.
Panchiao.
I lived in Jinshan, on the North Coast near Yeliu. Nice little town with dirty beaches, betelnut uglies and no cheese or muesli in the supermarkets… But then again you could always go jogging between rice fields, take a walk in the mountains or go to the local night market on Tuesday or Saturday night 
I really miss Taiwan…

Been living here a bit more than 3 years full time, and a grand total of 5 years part time.

Taipei - right beside Taipei Main Station. It doesn’t get better than that.

Taipei proper, catecorner to CKS Memorial Hall with a nice view of the mountains to the north from my 12th-floor bay window (with no grates!). In the past I have lived in Wenshan District (unofficially the Ratnest…and Roachnest…of Taipei…and that’s saying a lot considering the level of public sanitation here), Muzha, and Xindian (Bitan area). I don’t have a butterfly and morning glory garden outside my balcony like I did in Muzha (or psychotic, abusive roommates) or a balcony overlooking the Bitan (and the stench of choudoufu and the blaring of horrible karaoke at 8am on a Saturday), but I do alright and my commute has gone from 1 hour+ from Bitan by MRT to only 7 minutes from my current place by bus.
Why doesn’t the poll have an option for “Hicksville”?
My sentiments exactly. For the past year I’ve lived outside Xinhua in Tainan County. Before that, I lived in Shanshang (pop. 7,800) for two years. Before that, Taipei City for just over two years. Before that, Tainan City for about seven years.

Do you hang out at the Golden Eagle? Calgary? Do you play hockey in Dongyang on Saturdays? C’mon, throw me a freakin’ bone.

I have no idea who you are, either. You’d think it would be easy to figure out, considering the small amount of foreigners here.
I went to the Calgary a lot my first year here. In fact, the owners daughter (I think her name is Judy) was a student at the English school I worked at. Two years ago I moved to “the other side” of the city and haven’t been to the Calgary since. I do remember their all you can drink deals for $500.
I was at the Golden Eagle last Sunday with my girlfriend. Apparently, there was a big party there the night before because someone was leaving. I don’t know who, but I heard Olivia talking about a drunk foreigner who took his clothes off. Wasn’t you, was it?

I was there when it happened. A bunch of High Speed Rail guys.
I nearly went blind due to the fact that the guy was bald and in his 50’s. 
Aside from the drunkin’ bald old naked guy (don’t ride the high speed rail for at least a few months after it opens :loco: ) I had fun. The beer selection impressed me. I downed a “Le Fin Du Monde” and another Quebec beer of which the name escapes me.
I am looking to meet some interesting people down in Chaiyi. I might be down there for the 10/10 weekend with my gf and some buddies. Anyone want to go to the lake for some beers?
