Hi, I’m using Explorer V6.0 with SP2 update on XP. Some web pages start to load normally, but after e.g. background and some images or text (never links) have been loaded the page remains incomplete, with the browser saying that it’s “Done” Reloading has the same result … why is that and how can I fix it? Thanks a lot for any useful tips! Xpet.
Switch to Firefox.
(Seriously, if you are developing a site test it out in multiple browsers. If all report the same thing then you have a coding problem.)
Also, try clearing your browser cache.
puiwaihin, thanks for the reply! The problem occurs with sites I’m trying to access, nothing to do with me building a web-page or so, it’s just something I encounter quite often when surfing the web. The browser cache shouldn’t be the problem as this is a brand-new machine and I only used it on-line for the first time day before yesterday, but I’ll take a look, thanks! Also at firefox …
Thanks, Xpet.
Are you using Zone Alarm? It might be blocking ads.
Thanks, I’ve installed firefox, works like a charm! It wasn’t pop-ups I was missing but “normal” page content like text, images etc. … Thanks, Xpet.
If you recently installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 and hadn’t before it may it may be IE script blocking. A yellow bar will appear just below the toolbars of your browser and you have to click that bar to let scripts run— and some pages require scripts to run to show the content.
