Indigenous Peoples NGO

The World Council of Indigenous Peoples was one of the first non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to receive
consultative status at the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.

Most of the initial work to get this organization going was done by the Sa’ami (Lapplanders).
Intriguingly a remarkably large number of delegates sent by “indigenous peoples” groups around the world
belong to branches of the Apostolic Charismatic Church of the First Born (founded by American Sa’ami at York PA some time in the 1600s).

BTW, John Dillinger’s father belonged to this church (as did Elliott Ness).

I think this bears looking into.
