Indonesia was strongly influenced by Indian culture for centuries, but it now has the largest Muslim population in the world. Not very likely that it would be a puppet of India. They do love their Bollywood movies though.
Actually very few. The population of Indonesia is ±275 million, currently.
Most people of Indian nationality and/or descent live in Medan and Jakarta.
