The family had to hire caregivers many times for dying family members. We pay a nurse and a care giver really good wages and nice rooms for them to stay in. Did we consider where they are from? Yes when information was limited. Did we hire people from less developed places, yes if I had enough information like references and recommendations. Otherwise yes I had to use limited information on a person to decide on an important decision, no different than me being more careful of pickpockets in Rome or something.
Oh, BS
More like you saying “I won’t hire anyone from Rome because they’re all pickpockets, because all Romans don’t have basic human values like me and my race”
it is not an good example for what you said. You are suing when you go to a hospital in Taiwan and there are an American doctor and an indonesean doctor, you will choose the American doctor, because people from Indonesia tend to not be treatable to do important things.
If I knew nothing about them, yes I would choose the American doctor that went to American medical school given the choice to save my life. Even if it’s 1% better, that’s 1% more chance I live and I don’t care about their feelings. I am not saying I would refuse the Indonesian doctor or that I wouldn’t change my mind if I can see evidence the Indonesian doctor is more qualified.
Might. I’m saying when I’m using what I know. If the Indonesian doctor went to an good American school and the the American doctor went to a really bad one I would adjust my decision.
The best doctors are in places like the US, Germany, UK etc. So if I’m given which doctors I choose. Any reasonable person takes that into consideration. Any unreasonable person only takes that into account when they have a lot of information. You have to discriminate when choosing, the question is which way is in a way morally wrong. I don’t find my way morally wrong.
You should learn to stick with your story.
You said:
I just don’t trust people from the 3rd world to do anything important. They tend to not value the dignity of human beings as much amongst other things.
Nothing in there about quality of education or making decisions based on individual merit.
You’re talking about ALL the people from a given country or countries and their overall value system being inferior to your own.
Pretty much textbook racism.
It’s called clarification on what I meant. I didn’t change my story. I don’t need to make a story because I told you exactly how I took into account something in actual situations.
I never said compaired to my race or whatever. But yes, some cultures are generally better and worse in certain aspects. And usually people within that culture adopts that. Not all but I can say it’s reasonable to assume.
I see why you won’t understand what I mean. I can guarantee my hiring practices are far more fair than most people for business and personal reasons. I’m willing to give everyone a chance, even those businesses actively not hire like ex cons and people in drug and alcohol recovery and I’ve hired them plenty in the past. Gave people time for mental health without question and helped people with eating disorders. I pay everyone I hire very well and above the average, and treat them above the standards. For these reasons I NEED to feel confident in the person and as a person I’m given limited information and I have to make rational decisions not based on feelings. I’m not saying I never or won’t hire people, but I need evidence to believe I can count on a person and each evidence is weighted differently.
