How about squash?
Why not just go with the flow and play badminton?
I would guess that there approximately one infinity of places to play badminton in Taiwan, indoor and out.
Ping-pong anyone? Many places around the city.
Different muscles used, different style, different feeling, etc. I love badminton, but playing badminton for 4 yrs makes me miss tennis. It’s in my blood. Dad played semi pro a while back and got me into it since I was young.

So you have skilz, I see. Say no more, I get it.
My nephew in Hualien (he’s 10) looks like he could go a ways in tennis. Physically I think he has all the skills necessary. Kid moves like he’s on ball bearings, he just glides from spot to spot as if he were on skates. Very impressive. His eye/hand skills are also very good. But like most players, the big unknown is between his ears. We shall see.
