For anyone who might want to change their vaccine reservation, this can be done by going into the system as if you are making a new reservation and inputting the your initial ID information. You will then get a page showing your previous reservation. At the bottom you can cancel. Then of course you go through the steps again and in this way get the changes you want (location, date, etc.).
I’m not sure I would recommend this unless it’s really unavoidable because it could be possible to get locked out of this round of vaccinations! It luckily worked out for my wife and she got the date that made more sense than the first one she selected.

I just managed to book an appointment without having received a text, so I would like to pass on the message from @OrangeOrganics that it is no longer necessary to wait until you receive a text.
Maybe I have an older/newer format NHI card. Mine has both numbers on the front and only a phone number on the back.
