According to the New York times half of the former US presidents have been mentally ill sometime during their lifetime … OK, it’s until 1974 but I guess some of the others are still alive and noone wants to claim this now …
Oh … and 50% of them had it during their term … 
Well, you can add Ronny. Senile demntia is a mental illness and I think in all fairness he displayed definite signs while still in office.

“Mental Illness” is a huge category.
I imagine depression effects most presidents in every country.
They should have that little sign in the Oval office. You don’t have to be crazy to take this job, but it helps.
If being mentally ill means being out of touch with reality, that would explain a lot.
