International warrant?

I have a question for you, a pretty difficult one. It needs to be very very good in local laws to answer: I have some personal bank account in Taiwan. Got a credit card too. Until then, no problem. Only thing is, how to say… it is somewhat possible that I’ve bought looooooooots of stuff before going back to UK, mostly electronic stuff that I thought I could easily resell and now I’m badly in debt.

So, ok I’m no longer in Taiwan but what could happen now since I owe almost NT500,000 and can’t pay? Do you think that Taiwanese authorities will issue some international warrant? Will the Police knock on my door one of these days? Let’s imagine I’m protected in Europe, what if I travel abroad (let’s forget Taiwan, I’ll never come back there)?

Thanks for the infos.

If your creditors locate you they can (and should) sue you where you are located.

Taiwan does not have any such international warrant. Taiwan has some sort of cooperative agreement with the US, but, I don’t know of any other nations that cooperate with Taiwan.

Just when you thought it was safe to apply for a credit card in Taiwan… Thanks lolo!

Yeah, really. I’m complaining becuase my wife has to be my guarantor. Now I know why

Taibelolo,

Are you Taiwanese? If you are, no problem… and good luck! Rule is quite simple: Take responsibility and pay up mate!

If you’re a foreigner: Same rule appplies. Also, thank you very much for f****** it up for the other foreigners LIVING here. :frowning:

Right …

Do you think you could at least pay NT$ 10,000 a month (equivalent) until you get this straightened out ???

The intent of the questioner is to find out if he will be chased for failing to pay. The case will be that the debts will mount up here and legal action will be taken againt you here. The case here can be brought against you overseas as well.

There will be no criminal warrant issued as this is a civil matter. But now by posting your question it would raise the question of your intent to defraud your creditor.

Seems you like to wrack up debts, flee and expect not to pay back your debts.
