Interracial Dating Again

Twice now I have posted a question about interracial dating, and both times it has been removed. I’ve said nothing offensive or vulgar or rude, but other people on here say things about girls that are rude and yet their posts dont get removed. All I asked is if it was looked down on or accepted, and both times my question has been removed. Why? My question is open, friendly and not confrontational at all. Could someone please tell me why my posts keep being removed. And I will ask again, is interracial dating accepted amongst Taiwanese people or is it looked down on. The only reason I can think that my posts are being removed is because I said in my first post that I was black. My daughter happens to be Taiwanese, and I am only trying to learn more to help her feel comfortable wherever she lives. So please stop removing my posts, especially when you leave up other posts from other people that are offensive and degrading to women.

Your first post was sent to our Temporary forum because you rudely demanded a response within a few minutes of asking a question, which by your own statement you should really have known the answer to, and which was very unlikely to lead to any productive discussion.

This next question is simply banal, could easily be answered if you had made even a cursory look at the site, and is not going to lead to any productive discussion. Therefore it was also sent to temp. I’m moving this to the Feedback forum where it more properly belongs.

Both threads are still visible:

Try reading through some of our posts and getting a feel for the site and these issues before posting.

.

You admitted yourself that you were positively received here. So positively received that you now have a (half?) Taiwanese daughter.

Attractive people, regardless of their race/ethnicity, will tend to have an easier time getting dates than their unattractive counterparts.

Though I have read posts about slovenly honkies getting down with sexy honeys here, I have never seen it with mine own eyes (I live down south, where we play it real - Taipei rules may be different).

Since you’ve now re-framed your question to fatherly concern over how your (half?) Taiwanese daughter may fare here instead of an anxious inquiry on whether your hang down will get its proper respect…there are many existing threads on the passivity of Taiwanese males.

In any case, you should keep in mind that “white guilt” doesn’t exist in Taiwan. “Is it because I’m black?” does not have the power here that it has elsewhere.

A number of things…

Don’t be daft, poster. Nobody on this forum cares what colour you are. You can happily leave your experiences of prejudice at the door.

I believe the site should still strive for more consistency. There are PLENTY of posts which crop up saying, “Hi I am new, can I find a teaching job in June?” “Hi, I am new, how do I find (insert unsearched for topic).” These people have definitely not done a search. And for some of us these things are most certainly banal. And yet they remain. And threads which do not yield any productive discussion? Hello… This IS forumosa isn’t it? NIPPLES sits proudly in the Open Forum as we speak. I’ll not dig more out. But they are there. This site, as helpful a resource as it is, is glued together by unproductive discussion. Surely moderators should be more concerned with harmful, hurtful, unsocial discussion? IP? Anyone?

To my mind Tempo Gain you are doing a bang up job. You are polite and efficient. Even in the face of rudeness. Here comes the but… BUT… why did those posts really have to be put in temp so fast? Give them space to breathe. If they tank after a week or so, then move them. No biggy. The site is 20 billion years old and can handle having a few posts (especially from a new poster) just sitting there for a while. Can’t it? It’s your show buddy, but this is my feedback. :sunglasses:

Off to see “whats up” in “Nipples”!!

You see what I did there…

Thanks man. The feedback is always appreciated! I try to do that I think actually. This is the thing: we have a bit of a constant battle with new posters who come on for no apparent reason except to stir up shinola and have a laugh at others’ expense. I think they detract from the overall experience here. When certain buttons get pushed that were pushed here I’m inclined to lean on the trigger, not to let it lie around a week. Bound to be too heavily so on occasion, and I appreciate being told so now, but I don’t think so here. Anyway, Temp isn’t a death knell–I move threads out often if they take on life.
