Introducing Velocite - high performance bikes

We specialize in making only high performance bikes. Our bikes offer tangible advantages in terms of torsional stiffness which is important for both road and mountain bikes. If you have ever struggled to understand why some bikes cost more than others, and if you are an experienced rider and can no longer tell the difference, we fully understand you. We could not tell the difference either regardless of the manufacturers’ claims to the contrary, or their price tags.

That is the reason why we started Velocite - we wanted to offer bikes and components where the differences are immediately felt, where the reasons for superiority or different price points are easily communicated and where the customer gets what they thought they bought. How do our bikes compare to the mainstream competition? They are stiffer, but no heavier or uncomfortable; they feel faster and they make you feel like a hero. We have been in business since 2008. Fist operating from Daan in Taipei, and since 2009 from the (mostly) sunny Kaohsiung.

You can check out our range here: Velocite Bikes

As we are the manufacturer we have all sizes in stock (unless sold out). We also have two retail locations in Taiwan, one in Taipei and one in Kaohsiung, we will soon add more. You are also welcome to order online. All the purchases are billed in TWD and you can use PayPal or Credit Card (processed by the Taiwanese NCCC) to pay for your orders. Shipping is almost free, we only charge for the packaging materials.

If you have any questions you can leave a reply here or use our contact form: Contact us

As a reward for reading this through to the end, here is a 15% discount coupon  Enter FORUMOSAN during checkout to claim it.

Wow I hope the prices are on NT$.

It is hard to say unless you are seeing the NT$ before the price. In that case the prices shown are indeed in TWD.

The website determines the visitor’s location and displays content such as products, special offers, and currency depending on where the visitor is from. It is all very Web 2.0, or something. This does make it difficult to diagnose possible problems however.

Thus if you are in Taiwan and want to make sure that you are viewing the prices in TWD, click on this link to force the currency to TWD

Alternatively look at the top left of the screen and select your currency there.

we now have one more shop location in Taipei:

Tima Bikes
No.20, Sec. 1, Ren’ai Rd., Zhongzheng Dist., Taipei City 100, Taiwan

They are also our service center for Taipei which means that they can act as an assembly and pickup point for any Velocite bike that you may choose to buy online. If you buy online and choose to have it delviered to Tima Bikes we will cover the intial service fee - bike assembly and set up for example.

By Monday there will be two complete bikes there, one size L Selene road bike with Velocite Tenax wheels for testing and demo rides, and one Black Selene bike for sale. This:

Prices have been adjusted to suit the local market expectations so go have a look if you are looking for a top performance road bike, in your size.

Nah, top of the line premium bikes really do cost that much. I’ve never seen a bike for $4,000, but I would absolutely love to take one out on a test ride.

Wait until I win one of those receipt lottos and I’ll be in that shop immediately.

Good stuff; I’ll be along to try out that Selene shortly. :sunglasses:

I mentioned better pricing in the previous post, but I did not clarify, so here is the link with the special price on the Velocite Selene frameset. It is now just under NT$ 22000, tax inclusive. It includes a full carbon fork (not carbon/alloy), carbon seatpost, and TiN ceramic coated headset bearings to slow down or even prevent rusting.
