Am I the only one still getting riddled with these? I just started using Internet Explorer to see it will work any better, but I have doubts.

Feel free to move this to Feedback and Anouncements, I would like this thread to get a little exposure here first though.

Please vote.

If you want to help further, post what web browser you’re using and whether you’re having problems or not.

It was impossible (for me) to post anything the first day 'mosa came back but I wasn’t getting any invalids yesterday and none today.

Just so you know the browser I was having problems with was firefox. And aparently IE after trying to post this. I’m going back to firefox .

Ok, this is really pissing me off. This is my last post until someone tells me what the %&^( is going on. I can’t live like this :fume:

I’ll still be reading occationally, but between not having email notifications and Invalid_sessions it’s more trouble than it’s worth (trying to post).

It’s like I can’t post at all.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

The only thing that bothers me more then not being able to post is not knowing what the problem is.

Something has to be wrong somewhere. This post is taking like half an hour to get up (I’m doing it in between stuff of course).

Please, don’t post things in the wrong Forum, just to get ‘exposure’.

:no-no:

I’ve been using Firefox the whole time and not once have I got any kind of error message…

I use IE during the day (at work) and Firefox at night (and early in the morning). No invalid sessions, but the website is real slow for me

I had a lot of Firefox problems also. I just uninstalled it and installed their latest release (v1.00). No problem so far. Note, this is NOT a plug for Mozilla!

Things went horribly wahoonie-shaped at around 2pm. Looking at the log
forumosa.com/taiwan/uptime.php
(keeping in mind that the time on the server is GMT, and we are GMT+8)
the load average went sky-high for a few minutes there.

I’m wondering why the server does this. It seems to happen around the xx:00’s and the xx:20’s. There don’t appear to be any cron jobs on the server. If this is just a common time for classes to break and teachers to rush to their terminals to check Forumosa for the latest on deportations, or whatever, then fine, but. . . .

Not an invalid session per se, but when trying use PM tonight, I’m auto-logged out. When I try to log back in, it’s not successful for several tries. Further, when successful, I’m sent back to the PM message but still can’t send and logged out again when I try to submit.

I’ve no problems posting nor with speed at this time.

Getting random log outs now when going from forum to forum. No messages go along with the log out.

Ok, now I’m getting a butt load of invalid_sessions. At times, almost every click to another forum, another thread, another post. :help: :wall:

When this site first came back, I was getting a ton of invalid_sessions. (Being a naturally paranoid person, I assumed that Squid, who worked very hard and did a great service of getting this site up and running again, had purposefully tinkered with the site to have me excluded. )

However, now everything is working fine again, thank the good lord above. Best of luck to you miltownkid.

This is the same promblem I’m having. Set it to auto login and you’ll get invalid sessions instead.

I’ll try logging in from an Internet cafe close to the house to see if it’s my computer/ISP or the site which is causing the problem.

I figured it out.

I’m using Hinet, when the guy that installed it gave me the settings he only gave me one DNS server address. I just caled Hinet and got the other one. I deleted the first one and only used the second (out of curiousity) and things seem to be working (I forgot to add that I couldn’t access this site at all today from home before I did this). I then put what was the primary DNS server into the secondary spot (I’ll probably switch them back in a week or so).

Anyway, if you don’t have both DNS server address here they are (in the order I’m currently using)

168.95.192.1 (as primary, the new one)
168.95.1.1 (as secondary, the previous primary)

I hope that helps anyone else that’s having problems.

Using a proxy server also works.

From my laptop Win 2K, IE 6.0, standard configuration all day today, things have been fine. No drops, no logouts except once early this morning. Speed wise I haven’t detected any issues either.

I started getting Invalid_sessions after the MaPo Squid switch. I’m a computer idiot, so I don’t know what the DNS stuff is that Miltownkid posted. All I know is that before everything was fine, but now I get Invalid_sessions over and over again. I copy what I post, then go back and paste it and try again. That method works sometimes - but is it worth it? No. What’s the deal?

I get an Invalid Session whenever I go to my Grandparents house.

I’m not exactly sure what that meant, but I can’t seem to stop laughing about it (I hope it was meant to be funny).

1
Try going to Start–>Run then type command (hit enter). After that type ipconfig /flushdns (hit enter)

2
Look here for help changing your DNS settings:
mediacollege.com/computer/network/dns.html
Which were:
168.95.192.1 (as primary, the new one) (try only this one first hit ok and try posting)
168.95.1.1 (as secondary, the previous primary)

3
If you want to do the map IP address thing (setup on that same page), put this in your host file:
66.139.73.203 forumosa.com

Try these in the order posted (skip the second one if you’re not using Hinet)

It was supposed to be hilarious, but I’m willing to accept funny.

Starting to get them again :frowning:
