It’s always a mystery to me how Musk gets away with so much DOD type business given his business in china. At least the DOGE tram should clarify some things, at the bare minimum.

Absolutely there is. To be expected. But a loud mouth so pro China (doesn’t matter about his anti Taiwan sentiments) and automation / firing people one would think he would get a second look at least. Bare minimum to put the public at ease haha. I’m joking, I know they don’t care. But still, it’s a terrible look. At least other pro China us companies shut the fuck up about it and aren’t leading NASA projects.
Generally, with these huge contractors, ties to that extent would, at best, make a regular ol’ clearance really difficult to get and preclude you from almost everything that needs special access. There have been other space startups that have replaced CEOs because they couldn’t get clearance for missions due to CEO nationality and perceived potential conflicts with national security.
What do you base this on?

Talking about pbh saying there is more crossover than the laymen would think, absolutely there is. People in industry tend to deal with government regulation more than the laymen so they would probably raise eyebrows faster than said laymen…crossover aside, it is interesting about Musk.

Not if the valuation is anything close to what’s been rumored. Undoubtedly money to be made in swing trades, but I’m not betting on the swings at the likely valuation and volatility. Fur those buying to hold, what would the thought be on upside? Why this vs one of the the more proven tech stocks that prints money and is currently beaten down? If you’re in it for the ai, why this vs something upcoming like openai?
I’m in because we moody apes may never get this chance to reach out so far into the universe again. The draw of the unknown unknowns in our solar system alone is worth my paltry investment.
It’s not always about getting a quick return, but if I had to narrow down my interest, then reliable, unlimited and essentially free energy for every single person on earth is the moral play.
