Is NZland really this inexpensive to live in?

with US$30,000 for a year in NZ… You’ll live like a royal family. Don’t expect that to go so far in Australia. But, with that much you could live ok in Auckland too[/quote]

Is that so???

Well, maybe a minor duchy.

Actually, at US$30k a few years back, yeah, definitely. You’d be well set. Now that the USD has had the arse drop out of it, not so much. You’d be comfortable, but certainly far from gold plated doorknobs and $100-bill toilet paper.

Forgot about that. Ok, so, for the same lifestyle now, you’d need 41,762.37 USD to be equal to what US$30K used to buy a few years back.

So, for 41,762.37USD you could live high on the hog for a year.

Household incomes are listed here in NZD

Salaries and wages are listed here

Things actually look on the up in NZ if I judge things by how they were a few years ago.

Buying a house check by location

These are some of the more expensive house prices in my city For the upper end of middle class.
