Israel and Russia

Israel and Russia have agreed on an anti-terror union lately. Has there ever been cooperation between these two states except for Israel accepting all Russian Jews returning to Israel? I was also wondering why Russia chose Israel specifically?

I would imagine for the same reason that the US is following Israel’s example in dealing with urban insurgencies in Iraq, Israel has the most experience and greatest success in fighting Islamofascist terrorists. Ironically, many of these countries that were hounding Israel to “understand the root causes of Arab anger” are now enlisting its help and support in fighting insurgencies of their own. I guess it just goes to prove how much all of us, including the French, really are in this together. We can work to fight this jointly and win or make separate deals that only encourage the divide and conquer mentality that has worked to some degree for the terrorists in Iraq.
